Gigawatt has launched the Utility Supplier Network, a supplier-facing network for the utility sector, built through a strategic partnership with Trust Your Supplier.
Utility suppliers submit the same company information, certifications, insurance documents and compliance data across multiple portals, forms and onboarding processes. The network lets suppliers maintain that information in one place and share it across participating utility relationships. Each utility keeps control over its own requirements, qualification criteria, reviews, approvals and supplier decisions.
That separation is deliberate. Information can be reusable while judgment stays independent, and the two serve different purposes. It is the principle Trust Your Supplier has been built on.
What a supplier network has to get right
Building a supplier network is not mainly a software problem. It is a data problem, and it is the part that takes years rather than sprints.
A supplier record has to be accurate rather than merely submitted. It also has to stay current as certifications expire, ownership changes and risk signals move. The compliance evidence has to stay attached to the record, so that a decision made a year ago can still be explained.
